I am getting quite a few enquiries from couples in Essex who would like to get married overseas. I am currently planning a wedding in the Caribbean for a client and hopefully I'm heading off to Italy for a study trip with the www.ukawp.com this year and then early next year I am off to Las vegas to look at some venues and meet with some suppliers and these won't be your typical Vegas weddings.
Whilst looking for stunning locations for a wedding ceremony, this venue was recommended to me. It has some of the wonderful views you'll find in parts of the Caribbean but won't cost anywhere near as much to travel and stay there. This is the Santo Winery in the exclusive Greek island of Santorini.
It is quite simple to get married on a Greek Island. All of your documents need to be translated into Greek and this can be done here in the UK or they can go to Island you have chosen for your wedding, where they will be translated. They need to be there four weeks ahead of your wedding. You must be on the Island five working days before and a minimum of one day after to have your marriage leaglly regsitered.

Sarah and Jeremy. A marquee wedding in Essex
I was approached by Sarah and Jeremy three months before their June
wedding. Sarah had realised that she couldn't manage to pull it all
together herself as she had exams to study for, she didn't live with
Jeremy at the time and was also working full time. Now three months isn't
long to plan a marquee wedding but its is doable and of course we managed it.
Sarah has been married before so they completed the legal part of their marriage at Bouremouth registery office with Sarah's family attending and decided that they would have a blessing in Jeremy's local church, St Mary's in Stebbing. The reception was held nearby at Andrewsfield, an local airfield where Jeremy part owned a plane. Its soon became aparent that flying was going to feature big on the day and why wouldn't it when the groom was a professional commercial airline pilot.
With quite tight budget to work to and a lot of guests, we set about sourcing suppliers for the day. Thank you to all of them who helped make the day possible and especially for Tracy Williams photography for allowing me to use her images.

What style is your wedding?
It's all in the details. The attention you make to the detail of your wedding can make all the difference in the overall look. Everything from the colour scheme, to the lighting to your choice of flowers.
When you are planning your hertfordshire wedding you should have a picture in your mind of the overall look. If you don't what happens is you end up spending money on random things in the hope that it will all come together. Believe me rarely does and it if you don't have an overall picture in your mind, it will cost you more in the end.
For this short blog I have decided to concentrate on lighting. I am big on lighting, it can make such a difference to the overall look when the sun goes down and you can create so many stunning effects with the use of lighting.
Here are a few ideas for your wedding in Essex, Hertfordshire and Norfolk

Do you want to get married in the Caribbean?
I recently had the pleasure of meeting a lovely couple who want to get married in the Caribbean. They would be my first client who'd like to get married overseas but obviously there are different legal requirements whereever in the world you want to marry.
Fortunately the Caribbean is fairly straight forward. You need your passport and your orginal birth certificate and you only need to be there two days before your intended wedding. Let me tell you this varies across the world and you must do your research to find out how long you need to be somewhere before you can legally be married. Its always worth consulting a professional wedding planner in London to discuss this.
Whilst putting together a proposal I searched the internet for some ideas for their day. At least by getting married in the Caribbean you can guarantee sunshine, although we aren't doing to bad here in the UK at the moment.

Sarah and Jeremy - A Marquee wedding in Essex
I had the pleasure of helping Jeremy and Sarah plan their June wedding earlier this year. Jeremy is a pilot and so the couple had selected to have their reception in a marquee at Andrewsfield in Stebbing, Essex. Fortunately they were able to use the marquee from a wedding the weekend before so that bit was fairly straight forward.
There are so many things to consider when planning a marquee wedding in Hertfordshire, Kent or Surrey because you need to hire everything in and there are lots of logistically things to think about. Size of marquee, how many tables and chairs, power, dance floor, lighting, toilets and the list goes on. It really is worth consulting a wedding planner in London if you are going to have a marquee wedding.
There's lots to tell you about the big day, and I will, but one of the absolute highlights was the arrival of the bride and groom to the reception by plane. It was absolutely brilliant. Thought you might like to see some of my pictures of the big day.
