An Autumn Wedding

As we move swiftly into the Autumn I started thinking about things to enhance your Autumn wedding in Hertfordshire. I got married in the Autumn, I love the fact that you can have a beautiful sunny day, with a chill in the air and the colours are so amazing. That was the reason I choose October to marry, that and the fact we wanted to see New England in the fall for our honeymoon. Believe me when I say it was amazing.

Wedding chair hire in Hertfordshire

I am currently sourcing lots of different chairs for wedding for next year. There are so many to choose from and they will all give a totally different look to your wedding in Essex. If the venue you have chosen doesn't have great chairs, you could cover them. I have to say I am not a big fan of chair covers but it's a very personal thing and there are some venues when you need to have them because the decor in the room needs them! If you don't want chair covers then have a look at some of these ideas for chairs for your Hertfordshire wedding.

The Wedding Season so far...

Weddings are in full flow at the moment, we call it silly season for a reason as there is always so much to do. The year has been brilliant so far, I have planned weddings in Essex, Buckinghamshire and West Sussex. Later in the year I'll be planning them in Hertfordshire, South London, Central London and I'm delighted that a couple of them will be near home, in Essex. I have worked with some unbelievable suppliers and some fabulous clients. Here are just a few of my favourite pictures of the year so far. More to come......

Styling your Buckinghamshire Wedding

It really is the little touches that can make your wedding and these don't have to be expensive. A lot of styling ideas you can do yourself or buy from inexpensive websites, such as Ebay.

Do give some thought as to the overall look that you are trying to achieve and try and carry it through from your stationery to the decoration. Also think really carefully about your flowers as these are also part of the overall style of your wedding.

Creeksea Place

I have the pleasure of  over seeing all of the wedding co ordination at the stunning Creeksea Place,  a wedding venue in Essex. The historical beauty of this Tudor mansion, with its lawn and lakes, will provide a unique and exquisite setting for your special day. Creeksea Place is the most magnificent wedding venue in Essex, exclusively yours for the day. This is a completely unique location for your wedding and  it allows you to have a totally bespoke wedding. Which is what Louise Perry Weddings is all about.

Civil ceremonies can be performed in any of the six licensed settings, they include the magnificent Walled Garden or under the marble pergola in the Orchard. Reception drinks can be served in the Walled Garden or on the lawn, with magical views of the manor house, Victorian bridge and Lakeside Lawn. It is one of the few wedding venues in Essex where you can have an outside ceremony, even when the weather is a little overcast.

Traditionally, the Wedding Breakfast and Evening Reception are held in the beautiful silk lined marquee, with breath-taking views of the manor’s striking façade that will captivate both you and your guests. After sunset, the glorious buildings and grounds are illuminated with spotlights, candles and burning torches. It really is a magical place to get married and can only be fully appreciated by a personal visit and then myself and the outstanding team at Creeksea Place can  meet with you to discuss your plans.

What is your first dance for your London wedding?

The tradition of the first dance goes back many years. The first dance signifies that the ball is officially open, or that it what it used to signify. This is the couples first dance as husband and wife and as a wedding planner in London,  I love it when the couple comes up with something different, something that I haven't heard before.

You may choose a song that has always been your song, or it might be something that was playing when you met or it might just be a song you really like.

The most popular song is still "Amazed" by Lonestar and it has been for a couple of years. A classic with beautiful words but I've also heard this year, songs by The Stereophonics, Ottis Reading, Labrinth, Bryan Adams and Luther Vandross. Here is a little snippet of London wedding band, One Foot in the Groove playing some of the first dances they have played over the last 12 months

Entertainment for your London Wedding

Couples are now looking to add the wow factor to their big day and its doesn't have to cost a lot. I have been exploring all sorts of visual options as well as the musical ones for weddings this year.
Here are some of the most popular.

The Photobooth
Over the last two years, these have become increasingly popular and a great way to get all of your guests involved and of course you get to keep the photos. Photobooths come in all shapes and disguises these days. For instance, VW Beetle booths and taxi cab booths.

Singing Waiters
Since the first group got together and launched the concept of the singing waiters, every agency seems to offer them. A great surprise for guests whist they enjoy their wedding breakfast. You can also have singing guests. These are literally singers dressed as wedding guests that at any given moment will burst into song

Fireworks
If you want to add a real 'wow' factor to your evening reception then foreworks will do it. They can be very expensive and you do have to make sure your chosen wedding venue in Essex will allow you to do this but they can look stunning

Styling
As a London wedding planner I am always looking at styling for clients and little touches that can add a lot to the overall look and style of the wedding. For example, a carousel in the grounds of your venue, some fairground games, a wedding bouncy castle and illuminated names and initials. The list is endless and they are so many specialist companies that can help you with all of these extra entertainment/wow factors for your London wedding.

Destination wedding St Lucia

Last year I was lucky enough to attend a wedding event on the Island of St Lucia as I have clients here in the UK who are getting married on this beautiful island.
You don't have to book your overseas wedding through a tour operator or even a wedding planner overseas. A lot of couples prefer to use a UK based planner to assist them with the wedding.
St Lucia is a very easy place for UK couples to get married and you are gauranteed the sunshine. if you are looking for a destination wedding planner based in the UK who knows about all the legalities of marrying overseas do get in touch.
Here is a little snippet of video from my trip.

A London Wedding - Part 2

Back in September I had the pleasure of coordinating two days of celebrations for Claudia and Jamie. If you have a chance to read through my wedding planner blog, you will be able to see some photos from the cermony and lunch on the Friday. The following day, the couple hosted a fabulous party for all of their friends and family at their local pub, The Elgin in Maida Vale.
It was typically English, with Fish and Chips for supper, followed by a pub quiz. There were however a few American touches, Missisippi mud pie for dessert and canapes of burgers. Here are a few pictures from the extremely talented Tom Halliday. www.tomhalliday.co.uk

A beautiful Christmas Essex Wedding

I got the pleasure of helping Georgina and Roger plan their Christmas Essex wedding at the stunning Leez Priory last week. Lots of pictures and video to follow but Georgina took the time to email me the day after the wedding.

Hi Louise,

I wanted to thank you so very much for making our wedding day simply perfect. The venue looked magical & was everything I dreamed of.

You were such a support & help throughout the whole day & I felt ever so emotional when it came time to say goodbye to you. You played such an important part in making our day so special & "did your job"(as you would say!!) so perfectly.

All my friends & family enjoyed the day so much & had so many wonderful things to say about it all.

Rog and I really can't thank you enough and we will always remember the part you played in our dream wedding.

I hope we can stay in touch & will send you some pics of the day :)

Much love

Georgina xxx
