If you are looking for live music for your ceremony, drinks reception and or wedding breakfast then Essex wedding duo, Unforgettable are ideal. A combination of smooth saxophone and female vocals. Its really is the perfect accompaniment for your wedding day.

This is what one of my clients last year had to say about the wedding music duo in Essex.

"..Thank you for all your patience with us with choosing the music in the first instance and for your support and guidance... You we so right in saying to chose what was special to us as we have wonderful memories and our friends and family have all commented on the beautiful sound of your voice in the Keep at Heddingham and for performing all through the wedding breakfast.
We had a fantastic day surrounded by family and friends and we include you in that as you were so much part of our day...  We smile every time we think about our wedding and cannot thank you enough for adding to the magic of our perfect day."

With love from Laura and Theo

Supplier Focus, Vicarage Marquee's

I can honestly say I love a marquee wedding. For a wedding planner in Essex they can involve a lot of work and planning but you have a totally blank canvas.
I have worked with lots of marquee companies over the years but Vicarage Marquee's is one of the best. A few years ago wedding band in Essex, One Foot in the Groove were asked by the owner, John to play for his wedding. Of course the marquee was fabulous, we had an area just off to the side of the main dining area with a stage, great lighting a black and white dance floor. We created a real party vibe for all of the guests.
Since  John and Emma got married I have worked with Vicarge Marquee's on several occasions, in fact I hired John to provide one of my clients whose wedding I planned last Summer with a marquee for their renewal of vows and 40th birthday party.
The best thing about working with experts in their field is the fact that you can totally rely on them to provide you with exactly what they have promised. I know John will do everything he can to make my event great. When you come to hire a marquee company you need to ask them several questions. Firstly can they advise you on the size and the siting of your marquee? DO they have a MUTAmarq? What sort of floors do they have ? very important if you are putting your marquee on an uneven field. Ask them if they can provide you with tables, chairs, bars, lighting and dance floors. Vicarge Marquee's have all this and more. Whatever you need they will be able to supply it. John will also draw you a plan and what they call a CAD drawing, a 3d drawing of how they marquee will look with all the tables laid out.

If yuo are looking for a fabulous marquee company in Essex then look no further than Vicarage Marquee's

Venue Focus - High House Barns, Essex

Last month I had the pleasure of taking a look around Highhouse Barns. I met with the lovely Victoria, from Pink Butterfly Weddings for a tour and a chat about this new and exciting venue.
Located not too far from the QE11 bridge in Purfleet the barns have been renovated to accomodate wedding receptions, parties and they are licensed for civil cermeonies. There is a lovely walled garden for photos and the fact that you can have the QE11 bridge in the background in certain shots give the venue a trendy, urban feel, although inside its a lovely barn.
You can bring in all of your own suppliers, although when it comes to catering Victoria has recommended caterers who know the venue, but other than that you have a blank canvas.
For live music, at Essex wedding band One Foot in the Groove we love a barn as the acoustics lend themselves very well to live music. The wood gives a nice warm rounded sound. If you are looking for something slightly different then Highhouse Barn is definately worth a look.

How do you cut corners with costs and not style?

Following on from our last post about saving money on your wedding without compromising on the style of your day

3. Cake for dessert

Over the years I have been working as a wedding planner in Essex and London I have always noticed that few guests finish their dessert or the guests don't eat all the cake at the evening buffet. Save yourself some money and choose a more dessert like cake and serve it after the main course. You still get to maike a big fuss of the cutting of the cake but then that is served to your guests as dessert after the wedding breakfast. What's left can go our with the evening buffet.

4. Buffet, BBQ or hog roast ? not a sit down meal.

If you are getting married in the Summer for example why not have an informal hog roast for the main course or a buffet, which can still be hot, instead of a plated meal. A sit down plated meal will   always be the most expensive option. A hog roast in the Summer can give a real relaxed feel to a wedding and save you an awful lot of money. This still works well for weddings out of season as there is something warm and comforting about a hog roast.

If you'd like to receive some more cost saving tips why not consider hiring EC Wedding Design, wedding planners in Essex for a planning workshop. We charge £150 for a 3 hour session with a professional wedding planner in London. This workshop is a perfect and inexpensive way to get you started planning your wedding. You ask the things you want and need to know and we will impart our professional knowledge to help you. If you then decide to go on and hire E C Wedding design to plan your day, this fee is deducted from your final bill.
