The Fennes Estate

On Sunday I attended The Fennes Estate open day. On my last post I gave you a quick overview of the venue, but what is hard to picture is attached to this gorgeous house are two fabulous pavillions. One has a nighclub area, brilliant if you are having a DJ in the evening. The bar is in the same room, which is always better and this is attached to the main house and where you would also hold your civil ceremony of you choose to have one.
The second pavillion can seat up to 360 people for your wedding breakfast, or can be used for the evening reception if you are having a live band.  If you are looking for an exclusive venue, which is your home for the day then take a look around The Fennes. They also have great deals if you are happy to get married mid week and the staff are great.

The Fennes Estate Open Day

Wedding open days and fayre's are a great way for you to meet suppliers face to face and chat about your wedding. It will also give you the opportunity to see flowers, cakes, dresses, entertainment and get some ideas for your big day.
On Sunday 22nd January I will be at The Fennes open day with my musical hat on, to chat to couples about booking live music for their wedding day, and giving them planning ideas about timings, the sorts of live music you can have, song ideas for their ceremony. In fact anything music related.
If you are currently looking for a venue for your wedding then take a look at The Fennes, It is a beautiful Georgian house situated in 100 acres of tranquil Essex countryside. The house and the grounds are your exclusively for the day, which I have to say I like. I'm not keen on a venue where you can literally bump into another bride in the loo!
I  will be launching one of my new acts at The Fennes, called Unforgettable, a combination of smooth saxophone and exquisite vocals, which will provide the perfect accompaniment to your ceremony, drinks reception or wedding breakfast, or even all three. I think its quite a classic and elegant touch to your wedding day, without being classical.
They will be performing throughout the day so come along and say hello. If you are looking for a band or any live music for your wedding day,  then I will be able to answer any questions you have and of course you can chat to me about any help you might need with your wedding plans. Hanbury Manor Wedding Fayre

Last Sunday I had a stand at the Hanbury Manor wedding fayre, with my musical hat on promoting Groove Music Management and Essex wedding band, One Foot in the Groove.
Hanbury Manor is a gorgeous hotel in the Hertfordshire countryside. It was my first fayre of the spring season, there are a few more coming up. I will keep you posted. We took a couple of provisional bookings for our main hertfordshire wedding band, One Foot in the groove, which was great and many more bride and grooms to be,  took the bands CD.
Its been a few years since I've been to Hanbury Manor and I had fogotten what a lovely place it is. Set in 200 acres of parkland, this 5 star hotel and country club is licensed for civil ceremonies and has several rooms suitable to hold your wedding. There is Poles Hall, a lovely wooden panelled room, which seats up to 120 guests. The Thundridge Suite, which overlooks the grounds and champion golf course, seats up to 180 guests and has a smaller suite attached for the bar and buffet in the evening.
My favourite part of this beautiful venue is The Garden Court, as its completely self contained. The conservatory for your civil ceremony and party in the evening, the lovely gardens for your photographs and the attached drawing room is perfect for the wedding breakfast. It even has its own bedrooms, so your wedding feels exclusive, as you are away from the rest of the venue at this wonderful 5 star resort. If you are looking for something elegant for your big day go and have a look.

Wedding Industry Awards 2012

Later this month the Wedding Industry 2012 awards are being held in central London, at the Cafe De Paris. I was delighted to see that so many planners who are members of UKAWP are regional winners. This is great credit to them and to the work that UKAWP does. Choosing a wedding planner is a very personal thing as you are picking someone who is literally going to help make your wedding dreams come true. You have to put so much faith and trust in this person. It just goes to show the fabulous work that these planners are doing.
Look for a planner with this logo on their site or better still go to www.ukawp.co.uk to find the right wedding planner for you.

Redbrick Barn

Back in October last year I met with Dave and Jo Camp at a venue I hadn't heard of before, so I was excited to head down to Rochford to have a look at Redbrick Barn. The barn is in the grounds of Sutton Hall and you can hire the barn  and the grounds for your celebration. The gardens are beautiful and perfect to site a marquee.
The barn itself is quite small but is licensed for civil ceremonies and is also perfect to hold your evening celebrations. A marquee can also be erected next to the barn, so that you can have your wedding breakfast or meal in the marquee and the rest of the celebrations in the barn itself.
I will have the pleasure of planning a party here in May for Jo and Dave and I've recommended some great suppliers to them. Vicarage marquees will be providing the marquee  www.vicaragemarquees.co.uk and Fuud will be providing a fabulous BBQ.
